ECONOMIC SURVEY ROMANIA 2024

ECONOMIC SURVEY ROMANIA 2024

Following our meeting a few weeks ago with Ambassador Luca Niculescu, who is in charge of Romania's accession process to the OECD, today the CCIPR was invited to Victoria Palace for the visit of OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann for the launch of the ECONOMIC SURVEY ROMANIA 2024.

In addition to Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, several members of the governmental team, the main trade union leaders, the main patronage of Romania Concordia, the heads of several regulatory authorities, and some foreign Chambers of Commerce attended.

Prime Minister Ciolacu reaffirmed how the OECD accession process is a government priority and a driver of the planned economic and institutional reforms.

In his comprehensive report, Secretary General Cormann outlined the main recommendations that touch on issues such as fiscal consolidation and pension reform, monetary stability and improving the business environment, social inclusion strategies, poverty reduction and environmental sustainability.

These are all issues that, in our opinion, mark a clear road map for the development of the Romanian economy and society and will be the subject of interesting debates not so much on the objectives as on the tools that will be developed to achieve them.

We, as CCIPR, are outlining a program of discussions with the relevant technical authorities according to the priorities of our business community and we expect to clarify in the coming days some processes to make our interaction with the specific authorities of each ministerial portfolio efficient.
