Genoa and Football: A New Bridge Between the Economies of Italy and Romania

The Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania participated in the event Genoa and Football: A New Bridge Between the Economies of Italy and Romania, held in the Sala delle Grida of the Genoa Stock Exchange Palace.

The initiative, dedicated to the presentation of the new President of Genoa Football Club, Dan Șucu – a well-known Romanian entrepreneur – provided an important opportunity for dialogue between institutions, the business community, and the world of sports.

Representing CCIPR at the event were President Roberto Musneci, Vice President Avv. Pasquale Silvestro, and Avv. Giovanni Pometti, Secretary General.

Moderated by Sole 24 Ore journalist Marco Bellinazzo, the event was attended by the management of Genoa Cricket and Football Club S.P.A., along with over 200 representatives of Ligurian companies interested in strengthening economic relations with Romania.

Also present were the Italian Ambassador to Bucharest, H.E. Alfredo Durante Mangoni, and H.E. Gabriela Dancau Dancău, Ambassador of Romania to Italy. Speakers in the Sala delle Grida included the Regional Councillor for Tourism and Territorial Marketing of Liguria, Luca Lombardi, the Deputy Mayor of Genoa Alessandro Terrile, the Vice President of Confindustria Genova and General Counsel of Ansaldo Energia, Chiara Piaggio, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa, Luigi Attanasio, and the President of Spediporto, Andrea Giachero.

In his speech, Dan Șucu highlighted that his entry into Italy’s oldest club represents today the main Romanian investment in Italy.

President Musneci emphasized the value of Italian investments in Romania and development opportunities in strategic sectors, as well as the growing importance of Romanian investors in Italy, bringing innovation and fostering an increasingly balanced economic dialogue between the two countries.

Among the success stories, Chiara Piaggio, General Counsel of Ansaldo Energia, recalled the over 40 years of commitment by Ansaldo Nucleare at the Cernavoda nuclear plant under the guidance of Gianni Villabruna.

A special thanks to Clickutility Team and its President Carlo Silva, and to IIC – International Institute of Communications, for the impeccable organization of an event that demonstrates how sport and business can become drivers of new connections and shared growth.
